So I haven't updated in forever. Mainly because I'm lazy, but also because all my friends on livejournal are the ones there when anything interesting happens, and therefore already know.
so last night I finally got my bike back. It is so much fun to just cruise around town with music playing. I also watched a movie with gavin, megan and jeff. The Big Labowski (sp?). It was pretty damn funny.
things that are going well: - I love my job, so much (i'm here right now). I get to listen to records all day, and also buy lots of new albums. It's really awesome. I get about 30-35 hours a week, which isn't thhhaaaaat much, but it isn't overwhelming. - things with my family are pretty good now - i love my friends to death, and am having so many great nights hanging out with them. (major shout outz to gavin and zacharias, who i've been seeing a lot of and becoming really good friends with.) - jen bevins is the best person ever and I couldn't ask for a more perfect relationship. i love her lotsa.
maybe there's more to say but I don't know. see most of y'all tonight lawl. |

Ok! So, I want to do this sweet memories thing, like Troy did a while ago. I want to remember awesome stories or funny things said that people have to tell. Everyone just please most memories of things involving us. Not serious things, or anything. But humours and memorable occasions and the such. Everyone please try and actually do this, I know there's lots of sweet things! Just don't try and turn it into a joke, like "Remember that time when....YOU'RE A LEBANESE MINORITY!!! HUH-HUH-HUH-HUH!!!" or something, haha. Just real funny times had, or kickass stories!okgo! ps, multiple (LIkE AS MANY AS YOU WANT) memories are welcome!!! |

| | AGAINST ME!!!! | ] | I miss Against Me! I had overplayed them and haven't listened to them much since. And forgot how damn good they. I've been downloading a lot lately, and have been adding a lot more music to my repertoire. I like listening to a variety of music, because you can always find something for your mood that way. This is my music nerd post and I'm gonna make a sweet "post memories plz" post in a minute after this. But for now, I'm going to list ten bands that I think anyone who has me on livejournal should listen to/I think they would like. I'll compare them to someone more noticeable. THEN! all you readers gotta post five or ten new stuffs for me that you think I'd like. Or even if you don't think I'd be huge on it, I'll download a bunch anyway, just in case! kgo.
1. The Lawrence Arms - Three-piece punk-rock outta Chicago. Rotating singers, one with a smoother/more normal voice, one with a sweet raspy/scratchy voice. Most times it's a song by song type thing, others it's a duet. Both are awesome, and I love this band. Very A+ lyrics, with crazycatchy melodies that'll make you shiver. for fans of: ...not really sure, I can't compare these guys to anyone. SORRY YOU'LL HAVE TO TRUST ME LAWL.
2. Latterman - Sing-a-long hardcore mixed with Against Me!'s type of energy and passion. Very sweet lyrics that go along with awesome catchy melodies, that'll have you chanting along in no time. for fans of: Against Me! and Comeback Kid
3. Arrogant Sons of Bitches - Ska-punk. uuuummm, it's really fast thirdwave ska stuff, with lots of upstroke guitar and trombone, with the lead singer more often than not ranting on about something or other. It's very good and I listen to it all the time. Usually have fairly poor recordings, but you can def. get the point of how sweet they are. for fans of: Against All Authority, Big D and the Kids Table, and Choking Victim
4. Pavement - One of the godfathers of indie-rock. Most people who are all into indie and like...wear a scarf and stuff don't usually listen to these dudes, or have heard of them for that matter, but they should. To me, they are the one indie band I'd listen to if I could only listen to one for the rest of my life. for fans of : Sonic Youth and the Weakerthans
5. Alkaline Trio - I use to hate this band, but recently it clicked how fucking good they are. One of my favourites currently. They are another three piece band from Chicago, and have the same three piece/handoff vocals as the Lawrence Arms. However, these guys tend to be a "darker" punk band, who deal with such grave topics as....alcoholism, depression, and narcicism! oo0o0. Yeah, also really catchy, and also have unreal lyrics. for fans of: emo, AFI, Motion City Soundtrack, Brand New, and old Saves the Day
6. MIchael Jordan Touchdown Pass - This is actually just one guy making all this awesome music. He has a very nice voice, and is an excellent song writer. The day I bought this cd, I couldn't stop listening to it for a week. One of the better albums I've heard all year was this guy's debut. for fans of: the Weakerthans
7. Defiance, Ohio - These guys remind me of summer and I love that. Some songs are all cute and meaningful, played acousitcly, and others are more comical, upbeat and downright catchy, played electricly. An all time favourite for sure, and have been enjoyed by most who've listened to them (except one crazy mofo). for fans of : Against Me!, and acoustic music.
8. At the Drive-In - Just to set off some warning bells...these guys were pre-Mars Volta. When they broke up, the lead guitarist/songwriter and vocalist formed the mars volta, so that gives you an idea. They are a little bit more "sweet punk rock" than mars volta, and a little less "useless sound garbage" (not to say I don't love mars volta's first album!). These guys are just really tech. and have awesome vocals. for fans of: good music, and "Deloused In the Commodoafasdasnfla" by the Mars Volta.
9. This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb - Country-punk what's up?! That's right. These southern punx use more of a country-played-at-warp-speed style. Really catchy, and their bass player is a chick, and she sings sometimes and is super cute! Songs are all really catchy, and they have one about Jack Johnson. yeah. hipster trap. for fans of: Defiance, Ohio, and....Johnny Cash?
10. Jawbreaker - Ok, so as most of you know, I "hate emo." This is true, but only regarding new emo. What used to be emo was great. It used to be a step above Hardcore in the late '80s, being called "Emotionally charged hardcore punk". Then that someone got converted into whiney slit wrist shitty garbage...damn you the Smiths, damn you. Anyway, Jawbreaker was one of the first "realt and tr00" emo bands. I really like old emo like these guys. It's really awesome. for fans of: Rites of Spring, Fugazi, and if you like new emo, give some old stuff a shot.
Ok, so I know this was probably a huge waste of time, and most people won't read it. But if some people do that'd be awesome, because I don't post very often. If at least one person gets a sweet new band out of this, I'd be pleased! ooook, enough being a loser, I have skittles to eat (jealous?)!
so! please post some bands for me, and at some point get back to me about any of those bands!
luv james lol |

I watched so many movies on sunday: Mighty Ducks 2, Richie Rich, ZAO - the Lesser Lights of Heaven, Home Alone and Elf. It was pretty intense. The most movement I did was to roll over and pick up the phone. Or chew food. Ah well, my point is..COME VISIST ME AND BRING ME COOKIES AND GRILLED CHEESE SAMMICHES.
NOTE: pat and isaac and maybe others are gonna come visit and play halo. I'm excited. |

| | Defiance, Ohio, Descendents, Jawbreaker | ] | WARNING: GIRLFRIEND/LOVE RANT AND AWESOME FRIENDS RANT
Seriously, guys, I've never felt so loved in my entire life. From Jen Bevins to random people saying Happy Birthday, these past couple days have reminded me how sweet people can be/how awesome my friends are. Jen Bevins is the most amazing thing to ever happen to me, ever. I don't even know where to start or how far to go with it..just..bah. She is the best. I love her.
MY BIRTHDAY DAY/NEXT DAY: -woke up, mom made me a smoothie. mmm. -went to school, Kenny said happy bday. We just not-payed-attention together all psych, the usual. Just chillin' and stuff. I love that dude -saw jill, she gave me a hug and a happybday. -saw Jmack, Pat, Laura, Zac, got my greeting. Then John kindly sang "Rockin' Robin" to me, that was awesome. -chilled in the student center with a lot of sweet dudes (gavin, robbie, jesse, mark, matt, mitch---most awesome rural kids) -went to computer science w/ Matt King -DAY GETS AWESOME: Jeff and I go to his house to practice being the GC Bandits (for those of you who don't know...it means Grilled Cheese Bandits. We go to parties and steal/make/eat grilled cheese sammiches, while dressed as the GC Bandits. Best. Concept. Ever.) So yeah, our record time was making a sammich in three and a half minutes---and that was with a slight interference. We're looking at 3 minutes here, people. True GC Bandits..actually, the ones and only..ss. Then we did calc and I went home. -some awesomeface showed up. Jen and I hung out, and she gave me a present: TIGER ARMY III GHOST TIGERS RIDE!!! yaaay, such a sweet present. Did I mention that she is the best? We ate pizza for supper, then went to the band concert. Her and Garrett played solos, both of which were awesome. -Chilled with Rob Diamond, Morgan, Robbie D., John and Jeff. Went to DQ after. Many, many laughs were had between JMack and I, as usual. Then Garrett, his two friends, myself and Jen went for a drive so Garrett and I could yell at unsuspecting pedestrians. mhm. -went home, played tons of minesweeper. duh! -Today, had the cafe. So many people were so like "0o0o omg happy birthday." Countless people, people. It was sweet. I'm honestly not use to this much attention, and I love my friends. -I thought many times throughout the night how much more awesome it'd be if Kate, Lauren, Kyle and Jeff were home. I miss you guys, dearly. -Jeff and John bought me a cake that was chocolat, and it says "Happy Birthday, Chocolat Man!" and it made my night. Morgan also got the whole room to sing me happy birthday. that was very sweet of her. - countless hugs...yay!
I feel like such a loser being all like "0o0o0 i got so0o0o0 many hugs and so0oo0 many people said Happy Birthday." But, whatever, I guess. I'm not bragging, I'm just ridiculously grateful. And thank you, so much to anyone who reads this, you are the best(s).
Alright, I guess I should go to bed now. And by bed I mean MORE MINESWEEPER! Yeah, so see you later.
thanks for reading.
ps, to reiterate: Jen, you are absolutely amazing. And I love you (and all of my awesome friends.) |

| | mewithoutYou | ] | I haven't felt this amazing in a long time. or ever. i am so happy i can't stop smiling.
school sum-up-age: -Chemistry (w/ Jill, Matt Smith, Whitney): It's gonna be pretty sweet. Seems to be quite review-ish as of yet. It's really really really really great I have Jill in that class though. -Calculus (w/ Monica, Nenad, Kyle MacGillvery): gonna be a pain in the ass. and that' saying something, coming from me. I love math. I know, I know. shush. You can't understand the teacher. He pernounces EVERYTHING wrong (ie. MATeriuls --stressing wrong sylLABles,) and mumbles. But a well, Monica and I get a kick out of it. -English (w/ no one ---I guess you can count Jeremy Gaudet, but he don't like me much. Oh, and my new friend, Cassandra, who rules! good to talk to, and pretty funny.): It's gonna be a lot of work, but it'll be alright. I have two nights to do my assigned homework, so that's not bad.) -Psychology (w/ Kenny, Cassandra, Mike Bredin, and Jason Eazard, although Kenny is the only one I've actually sat with...damn 300 people auditoriums) : the teacher is pretty cool, but it'll take some getting used to the guy talking into a microphone headset and it being loud, and him circulating the room whilst (lol) doing so. Psychology is quite interesting, and I'm actually intrigued!(?) I've read ahead, and read 18 whole pages! and they are huge pages, so that took awhile. Tommorow I'm going to make notes! yay 2 nerdz. -Computer Science (w/ Jeff MacKenzie (yay!), Matt King and Kyle MacGillvary): Steve Howard is the prof! Need I say more? Well maybe I should. I've learnted'd a lot already. A lot of terms I've taken for granted I now understand. We learned all about binary. And I was obviously a step ahead of the class on that one. I couldn't stop chuck-under-breathing thinking about binary code notes with Jeff. Good times. I miss Jeff x8524352435325 much.
I have to find people that have a free the same as me, and luckily, Mike Bredin has one. Today we went to That's Entertainment and Future Shop. He's a great kid. Kali also has a free then, and so does Cassandra. So that's pretty good. Enough about school, more about Jen. and how awesome she is? plz. she is the best kid in the world, and she makes me so happy. she has excellent taste in everything...(except she likes Garden State, shhhh, but I guess I'll let that slide.) Taste in music, in shows, in movies, in humour, smart, etc, and well-dressed! sigh. it kind of sucks though, when you constantly want to be with someone...constantly, and you can't see them much. and when you do, it's for short periods of time. lame, but whatever. I'll deal. tommorow will be here soon enough. heh.
Music note: mewithoutYou are so awesome, and they have a new CD out (Brother, Sister) really soon! yay!!! Tiger Army are also very good, check them out.
I guess I'm going to go now! bye everybody. congrats if you read that all. |

| | Lawrence Arms and Leftover Crack | ] | Apparently, playing tetris when you are polluted is really hard. I couldn't get past level two. How sad. I feel pretty shitty, but not because of the alcohol..directly. More of the lack of sleep, caused by said alcohol. But Pat just let me know it was probably the three huge glasses of Pepsi and a 7up that kept me up. He's most likely right. Work won't be fun tonight. Ah, well.
Kate leaves today, and that sucks. Megan left early this morning, and that sucks too. Chloe, Sarah, Jeff and Kyle too. Lame. HOW DARE YOU MOVE OFF ISLAND TO FURTHER YOUR EDUCATIONS YOU SONSOFBITCHES?!
I miss this kid so much. Gone for 15 days. Longest 15 days of my life. But it's only 4 more days, so that's...cool, I guess. I can't wait.
I enjoy the Lawrence Arms, immensely.
fare thees well. |

| | Bigwig | ] | I loved. not much more to say than that. It seems like all that people that matter in my life, or my "top 7" as i said last night, love me right back. This means so much to me, that I have these people. Most of them know who they are, as I rambled about it last night, but maybe some of them don't, and should. come to think of it, there's way more than 7 that mean the world to me. and this makes me even more happy. it's the best part knowing that these people love you back. My summer is starting to take a turn for the best. The only shitty part is that I miss Jen a lot a lot a lot. she is really awesome. It also sucks that some amazing people will be out of my life for an unknown amount of time. but we'll stay in touch, I know it. It doesn't take long to email someone to see how they are doing. alright, I'm gonna wrap this up. goodbye everybody, I'll see anyone who matters tonight! and anyone cool tonight! |
